The HP F50 is without a doubt a wonderful monitor. We just purchased ours three days ago and I feel like I am in a brand new computer world. The clarity and sharpness of this monitor is unsurpassed. My husband has a vision defect, and this monitor is much easier for him to read. He is actually using our computer since this purchase! This is definate must for anyone searching for a new monitor. Well worth the money–exceptional value!

  2. My experience with this monitor is quite different from the first posting. I purchased the HP Pavilion 743c about a week ago and it came bundled with the F50 LCD Monitor. The resolution and color are sharp and easy on my eyes. I am very happy with it. I have looked at other LCD monitors such as Gateway’s current 17″ and it is noticeably less sharp and I would call it smudgy.

Another quality of this monitor is its dual input capabilities of analog and digital (DVI).

I purchased this monitor at Micro Computer, Santa Clara California in October 2002 along with a Hewlett Packard computer. I did not purchase any additional warranty as the monitor came with a 1 year guarantee. At the time this monitor was priced at $649. In June of 2004 the monitor screen intermittently went blank for periods of 1 second to more then 1 hour. I tested the monitor on another computer and it exhibited the same problem. HP customer service had me bring it to a Radio Shack store that received moved it to the HP repair center. The monitor was returned 2 weeks later without repair. I was told by HP that flat screen LCD monitors are never repaired. So the net result is that the monitor lasted only 1-1/2 years. I complained to HP and they have offered me a $175 dollar credit towards a new monitor which will cost $379. My complaint is that the guarantee is much too short at 1 year on an expensive part that cannot be repaired. They need to offer a reasonable minimum life of 3 to 5 years.

I went to Circuit City and bought this moniter along with the hp deskjet 3820 printer and the hp pavilion 752n tower. They all came as a set and I have to say I loved it. There was a reviewer who said that the text and pictures get blurry but trust me, they definitely do not do that on my computer. I really like flat screens and hp computers so this was a treat for me. It’s a little pricey but absolutely worth every cent.

I was really impressed with HP’s f50 LCD monitor. I had just about talked my client out of purchasing an LCD monitor at all when we came across an HP desktop system featuring the f50. The text and graphics looked sharp and the color output was excellent. One thing–make sure to adjust the resolution to it’s highest setting when you get the monitor home.
